Celebrating 50 years of Camp Marydale

During 2013, the C.Y.O.’s Camp Marydale reach an incrediable milestone – 50 years!

Since 1963, Camp Marydale’s mission to serve inner-city children has evolved to meet the changing needs of our community and the children our agency serves with this program. From subsidized camp registration fees, no-charge bus transportation, to accessible programs and respite care services for children with special needs, Camp Marydale has been a leader in breaking down barriers- whether they are physical, behavioural, or even financial – because our agency believes that every child deserves to play.

Thank you to all of our Campership and ‘One-to-One’ donors, as well as our Community Partners and Supporters for helping us to reach this incrediable milestone from all the children our agency serves!

I was one of the first camp councilors at the original Camp Marydale in Freelton. We had to use our imagination with the kids because we never had the facilities that there is today. We really enjoyed the kids. We had to go the the YMCA camp Hoover to swim as we did not have a pool. I hope to some day stop in at the new facility and see how it has grown from when I was there.

My grandson is going there on June the 9th with his school and he is really looking forward to it.

Glad to see what a dream has become.

    Good luck
