C.Y.O. Crusader Athletics Program
Over the past 60 years (1958 – 2018) the C.Y.O.’s Crusader Athletics has become a community-wide, after school, health and fitness, sports and recreation program that serves over 24,000 boys and girls, ages 6 to 13 years old regardless of their skill or ability. Young people are given the choice of participating in one, or all of the following recreational activities in basketball, volleyball, flag football, cross-country and track & field – at no cost.
All of our core athletic programs emphasize participation, sportsmanship, skill development and above all – fair play.We also understand that active children help to build and maintain a positive self image for our young people. We also offer a leadership development program for the past 29 years called Leaders in Crusader Athletic Program (L.C.A.P.). L.C.A.P. was designed to give our young people the opportunity to develop their leadership skills by volunteering for the C.Y.O. as officials, scorekeepers, security and timekeepers.
Our agency staff stresses the Crusader Athletics philosophy of “Athletes First, Winning Second”, and that our program needs to provide a real opportunity for children and teens to grow physically, emotionally and spiritually. The C.Y.O. also believes that sport provides real, everyday opportunities and competitive situations that offer an opportunity to maintain and grow in our Catholic faith and Christian lifestyle.
