We are starting a Learning Garden at Camp Marydale

One way to grow children and youth is to teach them all about how food grows. That’s why we’re opening up a Learning Garden at Camp Marydale this year, 2024.

“The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.”

― Masanobu Fukuoka, The One-Straw Revolution

How to Get Involved

Get on our list for the Garden Club so you’ll know what’s up. We’ll email you all you need to know.

We’re pretty excited that parents, guardians, and families—however you want to look at it—are invited to participate in building our garden!

We’re going to have an opening day event, and we’ll be setting up some work days as we start to build our planting beds. Then, of course, there will be planting day! If you’ve got friends and family who are interested, let them know.

Thank-you, as always, for supporting the growth of children and youth.

Our Learning Garden is 50 feet by 100 feet. That’s big! We covered the grass over the winter with a big tarp, so in the spring the grass will be gone and we can make our planting beds.

Last year we planted a tiny little test garden and our soil gave us two cute little pumpkins.
