The C.Y.O. is continually enhancing our programs and services in response to the changing needs of our community. Our agency works closely with partnering agencies, such as Community Living Hamilton, to serve the needs of caregivers and families who have a family member with special needs.

Dragonfly Lodge - Barrier-Free Respite

Dragonfly Lodge is operated in partnership with the Catholic Youth Organization and Community Living Hamilton to provide respite recreation to parents and caregivers with a family member who has a disability.

This project began in 1999 with the vision of providing supported vacations to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities, and to offer respite to their parents/caregivers. The Lodge came into operation in the summer of 2005 and we are lucky and honoured to be in partnership with Community Living Hamilton ever since.

Public Rentals - Location & Features

Dragonfly Lodge is situated in the small town of Rockwood, Ontario – centrally located in the heart of Southern Ontario’s Festival Country – 15 minutes east of Guelph. It is a quaint town with antique gift shops and small eateries. The lodge offers 2,400 square feet of living space and the building has been designed to take advantage of the natural beauty of the site, while offering wheelchair accessible, barrier-free design. It boasts five beautifully decorated bedrooms and a Great Room for dining or gathering by the fireplace. From the front porch, sitting high on a hill, one can see the tree tops and valleys of neighbouring farms or enjoy a sunrise over the tree tops.
