C.Y.O. SPORTS CAMP 2024
ATHLETES IN ACTION

C.Y.O.’s 4th Annual Sports Camp will offer girls and boys ages 6-13 the opportunity to play a variety of sport games at a high energy camp. The day is planned with age appropriate games to motivate children to be active, while having fun. The week is organized with assorted sports and activities with focus on development, sportsmanship and teamwork. This camp is geared to keep the campers engaged in sport in a safe environment.

Mission
To offer a summer sports camp for children ages 6 – 13, where they can play and grow in a safe atmosphere. Provide role models and leaders to allow the opportunity for the campers to build on their athletic and life skills.


Vision
To create a safe space for children to play in a multi-sport camp, to inspire children to play sport, stay active and have fun doing so!

Immaculate Conception School includes large green space to play and an indoor programming area and a gymnasium permitting a variety of athletics for the athletes.

Camp Personnel
Carla Underhill, is a former member of the McMaster University Women’s’ Basketball Team. Carla was an extremely competitive student athlete and her dedication and hard work led to various accomplishments. Carla was named to the All-Canadian Rookie Team, Conference Rookie of the Year and continued to earn a First Team Conference All-Star for four consecutive years. Carla was inducted into the McMaster Hall of Fame in 2007.

Carla continues to be an active member in Hamilton’s sport community. She has devoted her time and energy to the C.Y.O Crusader Athletics Program. As the Athletics Director, she will guide her team throughout the summer at the C.Y.O. Sports Camp; she holds over 20 years’ experience in youth athletics and youth leadership programs. Carla’s love of sport and passion for children to participate in sport will help drive this new camp to success.

Staff members are wisely chosen university and high school students, who are knowledgeable in sport, enthusiastic and possess teamwork skills.

A Typical Day

8:50am – 9:00am: drop off athlete
9:30am – 10:30am: Activity #1
10:45am – 11:45am: Activity #2
12:00pm – 12:30pm: Lunch
12:45pm – 1:45pm: Activity #3
2:00pm – 2:45pm: Activity #4
2:50pm: Closing remarks
2:55pm – 3pm: Athlete pick up

What to Bring to Camp

  • Play clothes

  • Running shoes

  • Hat

  • Sunscreen

  • Lunch

    • Bagged lunch, plenty of snacks

    • Allergy sensitive camp, NUT FREE please.

  • Refillable water bottle

 

How Will We Keep the Athletes Safe?

Designated drop off and pick up points

Only staff and campers allowed on the field & play areas

Daily equipment disinfection of cones, balls, etc.

Individual water bottles and hand sanitizers at all activities

Thermometers on site

$275 (taxes included)
Camp is one week
Monday to Friday

When registering child(ren), campers must attend their birth year. The cohort of campers permitted at camp this year is minimal, therefore, to maintain a positive experience the Athletes in Actions Sports Camp is designed each week accordingly to age groups. This allows for enjoyable competition in games and activities, supporting the athlete’s growth and development
